Bangkok is one of the cities in which a major river meanders through it, together with a large number of canals or Klongs as they are called in Thailand. And then, there are of course the proverbial traffic jams. So the bridges are not only required to cross the river and the Klongs, they are also required to address traffic congestion and flow issues. And again due to the constant flow of traffic on the roads, bridges are also required for the pedestrian to cross those always-busy roads.
