 Description:   The Equestrian Statue of King Rama V is the significant symbol of the love of Thai people had for their beloved king as it was built from the fund contributed by Thai people. The statue was cast in Paris during in King Rama V’s royal visit in 1907 and was shipped to erect at the current premise, at the Royal Plaza in front of Ananda Samakhom Throne Hall, in 1908 for his 40th anniversary of his accession to the throne. Locals usually visit the statue to pay respect on Tuesdays, the day of his birthday. There’s a big celebration the Royal Plaza is packed with thousands of people on October 23 of every year, which was the day he passed away in 1910.
