 Description:    This museum, managed by the Thai Railway Foundation, is small but packed with artefacts dating back across more than 100 years in no particular order, and without explanatory signage.
The museum is not normally busy and the attendant is normally more than willing to take the opportunity to explain some of the items on display.
The museum is open Tuesday to Saturday from 10.00 to 18.00 (except public holidays) and admission is free.
The entrance to the museum is located at the left hand side of the grand entrance to the station, opposite the entrance to KFC restaurant

The main Departure Hall is still use for some trains but since the opening of the new Krung Thep Aphiwat Central Terminal, this hall also accomodate a display of old Locomotives and steam locomotives - 7 of them are on permanent display while some others can be see occasionnaly (Nb 350, 824, 850,...) as they are also used for train toursim excursions.

The seven locomotives on permanent display are:
▪ A-class steam locomotive No. 54, operated from 1911-1965
▪ A-class steam locomotive No. 61, from 1910-1965
▪ E-class steam locomotive No. 165, from 1913-1967
▪ Steam locomotive No. 278, from 1928-1963
▪ Steam locomotive No. 336, from 1926-1966
▪ Electro-diesel locomotive No. 518 (Davenport 500 HP), from 1952-1987
▪ Electro-diesel locomotive No. 537 (Davenport 500 HP), from 1952-1987
