It is located at Tambol Phu Por, Amphur Muang Kalasin around 28

people and nearby provinces. The first statue is located on the
foothills on the ascent. The second statue is located on Phu
Por. Apart from being the location of both Buddha statues, Phu
Por also has beautiful nature suitable for relaxation. The
villagers always held a celebration ceremony for both statues in
April of every year.
Phu Por is a sandstone mountain with

south side is the area of Amphur Muang Kalasin, the resources
for various rocks from the ancient time. On the west side in the
area of Wat Pra In Pratanporn Baan Ponekum, Tambol Phupor,
Amphur Muang Kalasin, is where the carved picture of the 2
reclining Buddha Statues are located. Both carved pictures are

wall underneath the cliff on the foothill, around 5 meters from
the ground of the temple. The other one is almost on the peak
around 80 meters from the ground. There are stairs leading the
tourists to it.
The first carved Buddha picture was built
around the 12th – 14th Buddhist Era with the Dvaravadee
architectural style. The length of the picture is around 3.30
meters and 1.27 meters wide. The floor beneath this picture was
also carved like a cloth underneath the Buddha statue and also
with pillows underneath the head and the feet. Around the
Buddha, were carved into flowers compared like the hollow of the
Buddha. The Buddha is laying the head on his hands turned to the
north direction and facing the west direction.
The second
carved Buddha picture was built around the 18th – 19th Buddhist
Era with the Dvaravadee architectural style combined with the
Sukothai architectural style. The length of the picture is
around 5.2 meters and 1.5 meters long. The Buddha is around 55
centimetres curved out from the wall. The Buddha is lying down
in the Sihasaiya Style with the head facing the north and a
little bit to the west. The rock underneath the Buddha was
carved into a bed-shaped. This carved picture is more delicate
than most of the carved pictures. |
