Wat Muang Yala was
established together with the building of Yala City Hall
according to ancient tradition with Phra Maha Kitchayana, Phra
Phutthachangmonkon and Phra Phutthasirimongkonbophit
Kithisukkhayalaramsathitthaksinaphiban.
Currently, the
construction is over 50 years old, Wat Mueang Yala was built on
May 10, 1959, with Phra Dhamma Sitthimongkol (Phra Chin Chotiko)
as the first abbot. Although it has been a newly built temple
for 5 decades, it has prospered gradually as known to the
general public by Phra Chin Chotiko, who has played an important
role in the pioneering of forest clearing and construction of
Wat Muang Yala, the center of the minds of Buddhists and
invaluable temple of Yala province. |
