Description: |

This converted Thai home is a production and retail site for
traditional Thai court dolls, established as a royal initiative
by Her Majesty the Queen in 1976. Aimed at providing locals with
a way to earn supplementary income, the center also helps
preserve a dying Thai art. Visitors can observe the intricate
craftsmanship involved in these handmade dolls right inside
artisans’ homes as well. In addition, a co-op for doll-makers is
based at the center, giving artisans support and the public fair
prices. Thai court dolls are beautiful and ornate clay
figurines used to depict the Thai way of life during bygone
eras, including scenes of children playing, Thai orchestras
performing, and even Thai fruit, making them beautiful souvenirs
for any visitor. The center is located behind a temple, Wat
Tha Sutthawat, in Tambon Ban Bang Sadet.
It is open daily from 9.00 am-4.00 pm. For more
