It was constructed in Rama VI's period. The dam was originally named Khuen Phra Thienracha and was later changed into Rama VI Dam. Currently, the dam is in the charge of Royal Irrigation Department. The dam has 5 steel flood gates. A huge amount of water could be provided to more than 680,000 rai of agricultural areas. Moreover, along the dam, there is an OTOP center for tourists to choose their souvenirs such as products made of coconuts or  mulberry paper flowers.
Rama 6 Dam is close to other famous tourist attractions in Ayutthaya Province, for example, Wat Satue and Wat Kai Jae. Therefore, it is a great stop to get some rest before continuing your journey
