Vimanmek Mansion Museum is a museum inside Vimanmek royal
mansion. Vimanmek royal mansion is the world largest teakwood
mansion and the very first palace in Dusit garden. At first this
mansion was built by Kinng Chulalongkorn and then in 1982 Queen
Sirikit ask permission from King Bhumibol to rebuild this royal
mansion as a museum. Vimanmek Royal Mansion is a Victoria style mansion in architect of Thai-Europe. This mansion is L shape mansion it has 2 wings each wing has 60 m. long and 3 layer each layer high 20 m. Although base of this building is brick and concrete almost other part of this mansion build from teakwood. There are 31 room for exhibition include Royal bed room, Royal chamber, Royal bath room and art gallery. There are some interesting place around are of royal mansion. Apisek Dusit Palace. The royal palace that now use as art and craft museum. Inside the museum there art and craft exhibithion show about silver ware, Bronze work, Woven, Embroidery, Gold and Silver craft. Royal Carriage Museum. This museum has various kind of carriage from King Chulalongkorn era. Ancient Clock Museum. This museum has a various kind of clock that bought by King Chulalongkorn. Four Season Royal Mansion. This an old palace use to be home of Queen Pacharintra empress under King Chulalongkorn. The royal mansion Dusit area is part of the grand royal palace so if tourist buy ticket from one of these place tourist can enter another place by the same ticket. And it because of this royal family are it forbidden to any visitor who not wear a proper cloth. |
