 Description:   Near a north corner of Sanam Luang stands a monument to the Thai expeditionary force that fought in the European battlefield during World War I (1914-1919). During the reigh of King Ram VI, Thailand joined the Allied Army, declaring war against Germany, and sent an army of soldiers to Europe on 20 June 1918. The army returned on 21 September, 1919 and the ashes of soldiers were taken to be stored here on 24 September, 1919.
