Description: |
|
Built in 1983, Chai Nat Bird Park is the largest aviary in Asia,
where over 100 bird species live and flourish in natural
surroundings. Over 60 other cages of birds populate the park.
Small man-made waterfalls, gardens, a snake park, a rabbit park,
and a wild animal park provide additional interesting sites to
visit. A pavilion, located in the middle of a pond, offers
respite from the sun.
The Chai Nat Bird Park is also home
to an aquarium, which features many different types of
freshwater fish indigenous to the Chao Phraya River. Local
handicrafts such as wickerwork and bird carvings as well as
fruit are available at shops inside the park.
To get
there, from Bangkok, travel along Highway No. 32 on the Chai Nat
– Takhli route. Turn left to use Highway No. 1. Proceed another
7 kilometers. The Chai Nat Bird Park is on the right hand side.
The Chai Nat Bird Park is open from 8.00 am-6.00 pm, whilst
the aquarium is open from 8.00 am-5.00 pm daily. Admission to
the park for adults is 100 baht, and for children, it is 50
baht. For further
information, call 0 5647 6617 or 0 5647 6624. |
