 Description:   Part of Lankha Mountain, this protruding rock is located along the Chaiyaphum – Nong Bua Daeng route. The high cliff just out in the shape of a crescent moon, earning it its current moniker, which means“moon cliff” in the Northeastern language.  Also on the cliff is a temple called Wat Pha Koeng (or Wat Chaiyaphum Phithak), where a standing Buddha image is enshrined. The statue is 17 meters high, and overlooks a beautiful panoramic view of the rice fields. Within the temple compound is also an antique museum.

Pha Koeng is 36 kilometers from the center of Chaiyaphum town on Highway No. 2159 (Chaiyaphum – Nong Bua Daeng).
