Part of Lankha Mountain, this protruding rock is located along
the Chaiyaphum – Nong Bua Daeng route. The high cliff just out
in the shape of a crescent moon, earning it its current moniker,
which means“moon cliff” in the Northeastern language.
Also on the cliff is a temple called Wat Pha Koeng (or
Wat Chaiyaphum Phithak), where a standing Buddha image is
enshrined. The statue is 17 meters high, and overlooks a
beautiful panoramic view of the rice fields. Within the temple
compound is also an antique museum.

kilometers from the center of Chaiyaphum town on Highway No.
2159 (Chaiyaphum – Nong Bua Daeng). |
