Description: |

Ban Pong Nam Ron is at Moo 5, Pong Nam Ron subdistrict, Pong Nam
Ron district, Chanthaburi province. It is located on the west
bank of Khlang canal which is a minor canal of Pong Nam Ron
canal. Nowadays, there are only 2 spots where thermal spring can
be found – one is in a limestone well, and the other in a shale
well. The flow rate of these hot springs is about 1
liter/seconds and their average temperature is 36 degree
Celsius. The water contains a high concentration of various
minerals. Formerly, it had been 25 years that these thermal
springs were operated by a private sector before they were
abandoned. Therefore, Pong Nam Ron Municipality had to step in
for the restoration to revive them as a recreational area for
Chanthaburi people. The location where the thermal springs are
is well-equipped with facilities and services, such as 2 hot
spring pools, Thai massage rooms, the running stream of hot
spring and 8 saunas. In addition to these, restaurants serving
food and beverage are available outside. The parking lot can
accommodate as many as 20 cars. The venue is open 8.00 am –
17.00 pm every day. If you are looking for somewhere to relax or
revitalize from natural power, Ban Pong Nam Ron thermal spring
in Chanthaburi is definitely a place worth visiting. It is
very convenient to get there by car. Use the Highway 317
(Chanthaburi – Sa Kao route) to enter Sai – Borderline Road and
continue for about 10 kilometers. The hot spring is 18
kilometers away from Pong Nam Ron downtown or 50 kilometers from
Chanthaburi city center. After indulging yourself with the
hot spring, tourists can pay a visit to other nearby attractions
in Pong Nam Ron district. For example, Hin Dat waterfall,
Thai-Cambodian Border Market (Chong Pakkad), Khao Sip Ha Chan
National Park (Nam Pen waterfall) and the Archaeological Site of
Prehistoric Humans. |
