Description: |

Wieng Tha Kan is an ancient city formed during the Hariphunchai
period, an older era prior to Lanna kingdom of King Meng-rai.
Historians have found numerous artifacts during the excavations,
including sandstone, Buddha images, earthen amulets, brown jars
with bones and Chinese porcelains from the Yuan Dynasty
(1280-1368). The best-conditioned structure is probably the
red-brick pagoda and the ordination hall.
