Thai Island and Sea Natural History Museum is located atop the
Mhajor Mountain, Sattaheap, Chonburi
province . The museum is under the supervision of the
Royal Thai Navy and is part of the Plant Genetic Conservation
Project under the Royal Initiative of Her Royal Highness
Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn.
The museum
houses a wide variety of educational dis plays showcasing a
collection of field research's results about the islands of
Thailand, as well as many stories ranging from ethnic species,
rocks, fossils , soil, and minerals to marine life. These
exhibitions make visitors realize the relationship among the
ecosystems.
The
five sea-facing buildings were designed meticulous ly along the
hillside in order to let visitors take a remarkable, panoramic
view of beautiful islands and ocean while watching the
exhibitions . This. is a
subtle strategy to make visitors impressed with the natural
beauty and realize the value of protecting our natural
treasures. |
