Located on 199 in the
District of ToongTako in the Province of Choompon is the
renowned Ochkun tangerine orange1 garden. This particular garden
has the capacity and ability to harvest a sufficient amount of
oranges year round. As well as distributing their produce
locally, Nai Dum’s Orange Garden also does a lot of exporting.
The business employs use of advanced technology as it benefits
in quality control. Aside from a mass producer of Ochkun
tangerine oranges, the garden is an attraction and a shopping
arcade for souvenirs from Choompon. Nai Dum’s Orange Garden
has a popular saying, “Indulge in oranges while wandering in its
gardens”. NaiDum’d Orange Garden is an Agro-Tourism site, other
than growing Ochkun tangerine oranges, the garden also has OTOP
products such as toong-tako papaya, mangosteen preserves, durian
preserves and many other popular souvenirs of the South. The
area is populated with local restaurants and relaxing corners
for visitors to enjoy the cool breeze and fresh air. There is
also a coffee shop, which brews Italian coffee. Another
attraction Nai Dum’s Orange Garden offers are its unique
bathroom designs. There are Khun Kon Tong’s themed bathroom,
Tarzan themed bathroom and many more! Mr. Dum Chingsuwannaroj
founded this rather playful fruit garden in the year 1932. He
started off growing a local species of rambutan called Ngo
Rongrian. This was the very first fruit ever planted in his
garden. And through years of devotion and care his orchard
flourished! After years of growing the same fruit, Mr. Dum faced
severe problems and so started off growing durian instead. As he
has experienced from growing rambutan, Mr. Dum excelled in
durian growing and managed to grow the fruit out of its typical
season. In 1992, he received a prestigious award from the
Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives. As the durian trees
grew older, Mr. Dum faced the need to grow an alternate plant,
which turned out to be his most distinctive Ochkun tangerine
oranges. His oranges are to be one of the best tasting in the
world. Mr. Dum once again led his fruit garden through major
transformation when he decided to move on from an ordinary
orchard to an Agro-Tourism site. Nai Dum’s Orange Garden
promises to be a locale of utmost relaxation and unique
enjoyment. His doors are always wide open, having the cool
breeze, lush gardens, delectable foods, fresh fruits, delicious
coffee and the peaceful sounds of nature to pamper everyone’s
tired souls. |
