Wat Khao Rak
 Known as:
Description:   Geographically, Kanchanaburi province is cut in half, between mountains, forests, waterfalls and hills on the western side, and the rice plains on the eastern side.

In this last relatively flat area, some hills still point their nose in the landscape. One of them hosts Wat Khao Rak.

This monastery is relatively large, extending down the hill to the main religious buildings and places of life for the monks, while the top is provided with a Viharn, remains and several statues, including a Buddha giant dominating the plain.

On the lower part, the Ubosot and its yellow tints is the neighbor of an astonishing Montop (มณฑป), whose summit takes the form of a lotus bud.

At its side are a long staircase that leads to the upper part of the monastery. If the courage to climb it is lacking, a road leads you to the same place.
