 Description:   Kaeng Khut Khu is the set of islets in the middle of Mae Khong River. It’s well-known for its colorful boulders that are clearly visible during the dry season and totally submerged in other seasons. Across the River, visitors can see “Chana Kham”, Vientiane District, Laos PDR.

There are traditional Isan (northeastern) restaurants on the riverbank selling grilled fish and freshwater shrimps. Visitors can charter a boat to enjoy magnificent views along the river as well.

Getting there: From the city of Loei, take the Loei-Chiang Khan Road for 47 kilometers and turn right proceeding another 3 kilometers to Amphoe Chiang Khan. Kaeng Khut Khu situates before reaching the town.
