 Description:   Mahoran is a limestone cave has 200 meters long with 3-4 meters wide and 6 meters high and assumed to be at least 250 millions years old. The entrance has a shrine with a Buddha image in subduing Mara posture. The area within the cave is quite large comprising of stalactites and stalagmites, as well as, caves in smaller sizes. A Buddha’s footprint was also found on the wall of the cave. There is an inscription mentioning its construction period in 1952. It has been told that Luangpu Man Phurithatto once came to observe the Buddhist precepts in this cave.

How to get there: Mahoran Cave is located within the same area of Wat Tham Mahoran, Ban Nong Hin, Nong Hin District. The cave is located about 70 kilometers from Loei city, take along 201 Road and turn left towards the north end of the range and it is 2.2 kilometers to Wat Tham Mahoran.
