Ang Sap Lek  -    
 Known as:   Sub Lhek Reservoir    
 Description:   Sub Lhek Reservoir is counted as the largest fresh water sea of central region of Thailand. It is situated at Nikomsangtoneng. It is 16 kilometers far from Lopburi city hall on the east. Sub Lhek Reservior is an ancient reservoir. King Narai Maharaj hired French and Italian building contractors to build this reservoir and as well to connect a piping system to his royal residence. Sub Lhek Reservoir lies on 7040 aces land.

In 1954, when General Por Pibulsongkram was a prime minister of Thailand, He willed to construct an earth dam to save water for agriculture. Later in 1977, Sub Lhek Reservoir was renovated in order to become an ecotourism place. The roads were built to enclose the reservoir and there are many pavilions placed among the garden nearby the area. Visitors can come over to spot the beautiful scenery of the reservoir and to enjoy good food such as Som Tam, Grilled fish, Seafood, etc. Also, there are many outdoor activities provided for those who are adventurous. There are riverside restaurants and lodging places provided at the place as well.

How to get here?

Visitors should take a state highway number 311 (Lopburi Singburi) and turn right at the intersection to a state highway number 3028. Keep going straight for six kilometers and you will reach at the destination. There are many buses pass through Sub Lhek Reservior such as Lopburi Tha Khlong Bus, Kok Samrong Baan Mee Bus and Singburi Baan Mee Bus.
