King Narai festival  
 Known as:   King Narai Reign Fair     
 Description:   Colorful festival to celebrate King Narai the Great or Ramathibodi III who ruled the kingdom from 1656 to 1688 and was probably the most famous monarch of the Ayutthaya period. This sovereign made Lopburi the second capital of Thailand about 350 years ago. The annual celebration takes place in his former palace in the heart of the city. For the occasion, people dress ancient traditional costumes. Spectacular processions of colorful floats, horses and majestic elephants, reconstruction of a royal ceremony, folk performances, traditional games practiced by Thai children, fruit carving demonstrations, various exhibitions, flower exhibition, food stalls or bazaar of local products and crafts are in the program of this event.
