 Description: Located on highway No.2 (Saraburi-Nakhon Ratchasima) between the 193 and 194 kilometer markers, Lam Takong Rest Area, also known as Suan Na Chat, is a stop-off spot for vehicle drivers to relax. The place also offers the beautiful view of Lam Takhong reservoir. Here, at this rest area, serves the complete range of services and facilities. This rest area is also recognized as the gateway to Northeast, too.

This rest area is also considered as the Information Center which provides tourists information about the northeastern provinces, accommodations, viewpoints, a garden, food and beverage stores, a convenience store, restrooms, and public telephones. Another catchy spot is a 3.40 meters height sandstone sculpture of General Chatchai Choonhawan, a former prime minister, in a standing position with arms folded and leaning against his favorite motorcycle.

At Lam Takhong, tourists can opt for two-hour rafting trip for natural adventure, which is easy for everyone as this area is safe for rafting and suitable for family outing. Rafting is recommended from May to September which the water stream is not too harsh. After finished rafting, an elephant ride is also provided for tourists to fulfill the trip.
