Wat Chalo  -
วัดชลอ
 Address:
 Known as:
Description:   Established during the reign of King Barommagot of Ayutthaya and located in TambonChalo, this temple was constructed in the distinctive style of a traditional European merchant ship. Many lives had been lost as ships foundered in the nearby river, and local belief dictated that, as a result, a temple should be constructed like a boat to bring back good fortune.

Although abandoned for many years, monks finally took up residence in the temple again during King Rama the III or IV’s reign. The temple is famed for having the largest swan boat chapel in the world.

The temple is open daily from 8.00 am-5.00 pm.
