Wat Khong Kha  -
วัดคงคา
 Address:
 Known as:
Description:   Wat Khong Kha is one of the oldest temples in Nonthaburi. It was built in 1827 but there is no exact evidences show who is the one who built it. Previously, the folks used to call this temple by the name of Wat Khoak. This is because the temple itself lies above the hill. Later, the name was changed to Wat Khong Kha due to the fact that it is located next to Khlong Lat and Khlong Bang Yai.

This temple is located at Kanchanapisek road (on the west side of outer ring road) nearby Bang Yai area. If you are traveling from Bang Yai, take Rattanatibes road and turn left when you arrive at Bang Yai (Big King) station to Borom Ratchachonni (Pin Khlao). Go all the way down for further two kilometers and you will meet with the U-turn Bridge. After a U-turn, keep left until you pass by Khlong Bang Yai and you will see Wat Khong Kha’s signpost on the left. Keep going and you will see the entrance of the temple.

There is one Buddhist sanctuary located inside the temple. It is where the principle Buddha image named Luang Po Sila Daeng(Laeng) located. It has been presumed that this Buddha image was built in the reign of Ayuddhaya. The folks believe that the holy water made by the monk can obviate the bad things and turn it into lucks. Moreover, there are many more sacred items located inside the temple such as the big Luang Poo Tuad, which was officially set down on the same day as the new Buddhist sanctuary on December 5, 2010, Phra Sungajayana, Phra Siwalee, Guan Yin Goddess, the image of King Rama V, Tra Kian, Wes suwan, etc.

Besides, around the temple area, there is one little canal where you can feed the fish as well as release fish. You will get to discover varied ways of making merit here.
