Description: |
|
Wat Mahathat is ancient, one of Phetchabun city’s signature
temples. In its compound is a Chedi, named PhumKhao Bin,
standing 6 meters high in the shape of a lotus bud. It is
believed that it was constructed during the Sukhothai era, as it
follows the distinctive style of the time period. The ordination
hall and assembly hall are home to statues of two widely
venerated monks: Luang
Pho Ngam and Luang Pho Phet, respectively.
The temple is
located on Nikon Bamrung Road, in TambonNaiMueang, AmphoeMueang,
Phetchabun.
The temple is open from 6.00 am-5.00 pm every day. |
