The well is located just outside a village in Phitsanulok
Province, near the provincial border with Loei. On the main road
are several stalls selling small bags of salt, with larger bags
on the road side, these, I suspect, are to be transported
elsewhere for sale. The salt originates from a small, single well, elaborately presented. The well is at the end a short street, back from the main road. Production involves scooping a small bucket of water from the well, which is then placed in pans where the water evaporates. Then the resultant salt is placed in an open wicker basket.
