 Description:   "Phae Muang Phi is originated from the soil landscape and natural erosion of sandstones into various shapes. It is the hill higher than other areas. It was erode naturally by water streams for a long time, leading some of its areas become dynamic which some areas are high and some are low alternatively, The cliff and columns stand prominently upright in various shapes making them look beautiful and complicated as the mysterious city. The various shapes of columns were originated from collapse and falling down from the normal level resulting in mound and columns. Most of the texture have stripe lined from the top to down. The columns are both low and high, and for some of them are nearly 30 meters high. The area of Phae Muang Phi is about 1 Rai.
    The history about the mystery of the location of the Phae Mueang Phi is that in an ancient time, it was the sacred area in which the local people of Toong Hong Subdistrict and neighborhood pay respect due to its interesting history. The legend has it that there was an aged woman who travelled into the forest to find bamboo shoots for food lost the way to some places, then she found silver and gold well so she took the money and gold from the well to carry back her home; however, she still lost the way because the angel protecting the forest do not allow her to take them out of the forest, but to see. Since she could not carry them back home, she left them and cutting a piece of wood to make handrails, still she could not carry them back home.
The more she tried to move forwards, the more it seemed that someone was pushing her back. The woman quickly placed the handrail there and left out of the forest to tell others to look the handrails. However, when they arrived, the money and gold were disappeared. When they found the footprint, they followed until the columns but could not find the footprint to any direction. As a result, the aged women and the local people named the place that Phae Mueang Phi since that time and the story became the legend telling it as the sacred and mysterious places until nowadays.

    At the front of the Phae Mueang Phi Forest Park is tourist service. Here are a big parking lot and retail stores lined including food and drink stores and souvenir shops especially Mo Hom clothes which are traditional costume of Northern region. Along the way to the Phae Mueang Phi Forest Park is the forest park which has various kinds of rare plants and trail for learning nature. All along the park, there are bowers provided inside. The trail will lead to the small hill which you can view the scenery above the Phae Mueang Phi that we can see it, which is a beautiful view, and the mountain and Phra That Cho Hae as well.

    The Phae Mueang Phi Forest Park is located at Moo.2, Nam Cham Subdistrict, Mueng of Phrae Province. It opens from morning to late every day. You can travel here in every season but the most appropriate season for travelling is the winter due to its cool weather.
    If you have a car, it will be very convenient to travel to the Phae Mueang Phi Forest Park. You can travel from Phrae Province along the highway 11, Phrae Province to Nan Province. Away about 7 kilometers from the city of Phrae Province, there, you have to turn right to the Phae Mueang Phi Forest Park taking about 3 kilometers throughout the asphalt road. If you do not have a car, you can take a bus at the Phrae Mass transport Company or take a motorcycle taking about 10 kilometers.
    For facility provided by the Phae Mueang Phi Forest Park, the camp is not included as the National Park. If tourists want to stay overnight there and take recreation or study nature, please bring tent and stay in the area the park provided with the toilet. Moreover, you should prepare your meal by yourselves. You should directly contact and ask for permission from the officer of the park. There are also private toilets and retail stores provided.
