He thought that the stalactite in the cave called “Pha Vichit” has the similar shape as Inthorn bow on the shoulder of the field officer. The cave used to be called “Muchalin Cave” located in Chom Bung district at Chom Phon Mountain which was first known as “Khao Klang Muang” surrounded by shady trees and beautiful flowers next to Ratchapat institute at Chom Bung village.

The air condition inside the cave is not hot because there is a crater for air ventilation at the center of the cave. The cave size is 30 meters wide and 25 meters long. It is one of the beautiful stalactite caves.

Some parts of the cave look similar to dolls and thrones. The cave is given numerous name due to its beautiful sights including “Pha Vichit”, “Tarn Sila”, “Soi Raya”, “Sae Jamaree”, “Tong Phrarong”, “Prasit Dhewa” and “Kesa Saluay”.

At the deepest part of the cave, there are walking Buddha image and the Buddha image in the attitude of Nirvana situated with the hole above where the light comes in. King Rama VI used to visit the cave when he led the scout troop to practice the battle in Ratchaburi. Later when visiting the cave, King Rama IX, Queen Sirikit and the Princess Mother had planted teak tress, Pink Cassia and Nonsi trees there at the entrance of the cave. Also, His Royal Highness Crown Prince Maha Vajiralongkorn used to have lunch at arboretum at Chom Phon Cave. There is also the king’s signature engraved at the entrance of the cave when first establishing Crown Prince Hospital in Chom Bung.
