Sa Kaeo and Sa Khwan are two fresh water ponds believed to
contain sacred holy water once which blesses people luck and
victory. According to the legend, Somdej Chaophraya Maha
Kasatsuk (later became King Rama I) stopped at the ponds to use
the sacred water to swear for the courage to fight against the
Cambodians, and he laster won that fight. The water from both
ponds were also used for coronation ceremonies in the past, and
one of the pond has finally become the name of the province.
Getting there: The two ponds are located in Tambon Sa Kaeo
on the west side of town before reaching the city, on the right
