This museum, dedicated to a nationally renowned Buddhist monk,
Achan Fan Acharo, has a variety of exhibits and displays
dedicated to the sage figure. The building is in the shape of a
pagoda (also known as a stupa), with three lotus folds. Inside
is a life-size wax statue of Achan Fan, along with his ashes in
a glass box, his tools, as well as his life story.
The
venerated monk was born in 1899, part of the respected
Suwannarong family, in AmphoePhannaNikhom. At the age of 19, he
was ordained as novice monk at WatPhon Thong. A year later, he
entered the monkhoodto follow another widely venerated
monk,Achan Man Phurithatto.

Museum is located inside a temple,Wat Pa UdomSomphon, located in
TambonPhannaNikhom en route to UdonThani province. To get there,
take Highway No. 22 and turn right pastAmphoePhannaNikhom for 2
kilometers. |
