Description: |

The Lotus Throwing Festival or Rub Bua Festival takes place in
Bang Phli, Samut Prakan (20 km from Bangkok). Thousands of local
people line the banks of Samrong Canal to throw lotus flowers
onto a boat carrying a replica of the famous Buddha image Luang
Poh To. The boat carrying the Buddha image passes the front of
Wat Bang Phli Yai Nai around 7.30 a.m. - 8 a.m. But come early
because it is very crowded. You can watch the boat parade from
Wat Bang Phli Yai Nai, Bang Phli Old Market, the District Office
or Wat Bang Phli Yai Klang. |
