รถจักรไอน้ำ   "เคราส์ส"
 Address:
 Known as:
Description:   This locomotive is the same steam locomotive as the Paknam Railway No. 3 locomotive named "Bangchak". There is information from the book "The Locomotive of Thailand" written by R. Ramaer, indicating that the first 2 Maeklong Railway Locomotives were produced from KRAUSS & Co of Munich in 1903. The wheel set style is 2-4-OT (Serial No. 5011 and Serial No.5012), Locomotive Serial No.5012 corresponds to this parked locomotive.
2-4-0T means two leading wheels on one axle, four powered and coupled driving wheels on two axles and no trailing wheels. T indicates a tank locomotive of this wheel arrangement, on which its water and fuel is carried on board the engine itself, rather than in an attached tender.
It was imported to be used on the eastern section of the Maeklong Railway between Bangkok and Samut Sakhon. This section was run by Thaichin Railway Co (TRC). The western section was operated by the Maeklong Railway Co. (MRC) and ran between Samut Sakhon and Samut Songkhram.
Confusing, is the identification MRC 2 which is clearly wrong as trains from this company are dated 1905.
This locomotive was originally left behind a planetarium and was discovered in 2005. Initially, it was believed to be the Pak Nam Railway locomotive. Samut Prakan Municipality contacted the owner to buy it knowing later that it is not the Pak Nam Railway locomotive, but one of the same model. Therefore, it has been restored to be as beautiful as before and is displayed as a starting point to open the history and continue to find the Pak Nam Railway locomotive.
After being displayed at different locations, it is now exhibit at the Learning Park and Samut Prakan City Observatory.
