Description:   Retro cafe in the atmosphere of an old retro movie theater. Inside a large galvanized warehouse, rust stains can be seen reflecting age from the outside. Instead, it's a secret cafe with a cool retro style. Invites you to enter and experience the atmosphere similar to being in an old movie theater that reflects contemporary ideas and vintage style decorations in a harmonious and familiar manner, as the name Sanit Rusat Café.
“Originally, my boyfriend intended to build this place as a storage space. Store tools and electrical equipment But it's not in use. So I thought it should be put to good use. It'd be better as a cafe. Because it looks retro from the zinc structure. We also went to study how to make coffee. Intending to sell water and coffee to earn extra income When I saw this place was empty. So I had the opportunity to use it as a cafe.” Khun Kae-Salita Wanphen, the owner of the shop, takes us back to the beginning of Sanitsat Cafe.
At first we saw the zinc warehouse. It may be reminiscent of an old barn due to the store's location surrounded by fields. When we observe the colored drawings of Mitr Chaibancha, a Thai movie star from the past with his roles as the Red Eagle and the Golden Eagle, standing in action on two sides of the door, it makes us change the mood like we are walking into an old movie theater with tin wigs. While the interior is open and wide, it is a cafe.
Paintings are the highlight and uniqueness of Sanitsat Cafe. Beautifully displayed on the galvanized walls both outside and inside. Behind the drinks counter were large multi-colored letters like the sign in front of a movie theater. The other side is a hot-colored cutout familiar from the movie Fa Talai Chon. Showing off the artist's excellent airbrushing skills. Khun Kae reiterates that the picture of Andrographis paniculata is the angle that customers like to take their selfies the most.
“Actually, this idea came from a painter who came to paint on zinc. He saw that the old building looked like an old movie theater. So I came up with the concept of drawing pictures like in a movie theater and cutting out old movies, stories like Fa Talai Chon, Red Eagle, Baan Phi Phop, and the furniture maker helped bring old things that I had collected to decorate. We are looking to buy more. Take an old movie poster and put it in a frame. Tables and chairs were brought from home to be added. Just put it in place and it will fall into place.”
There is a large painting on the side of the building. His Majesty King Rama IX is working. It's another outstanding spot and customers like to take pictures a lot. Khun Kae said that it was an original picture before starting the cafe. Painted since the days when it was still a warehouse with inspiration from using King Rama IX as an example in work.
Vintage furniture and antiques perfectly complement the retro atmosphere of Sanit Rusat Cafe. Plus, the unorganized arrangement gives the perfect result. Whether it's an old motorcycle or a table-chair. Especially the armchair covered in purple velvet that Khun Kae said was an antique brought from home, which coincidentally goes well with the bright colors of the picture of Andrographis paniculata.
The food at Sanit Sanit Cafe focuses on simple, one-dish menus, such as homemade pizza with many toppings to choose from, pan-fried eggs, and various rice bowls. Stir-fried pork with chili and salt on rice is a signature dish that customers like to order. Now we have also added Isaan food to serve customers. The cook's skill makes the Luang Prabang Som Tum and Banana Blossom Salad so delicious that it is a recommended menu of the restaurant. Grilled pork neck is another dish that customers like to order.
For drinks, don't miss tasting the coffee made by Khun Kae, the barista herself. Select medium dark roast coffee beans from Chiang Rai to brew both hot and cold. If it's iced coffee, I recommend it. Special recipe Yuzu orange fizzy coffee Get the strong flavor of coffee and the freshness of yuzu orange mixed with fizzy soda. For tea lovers, there is also Ceylon tea from Sri Lanka to choose from.
In addition to the retro atmosphere in the building You can also sit and relax outside in the open air. Under the wooden house, airy and comfortable. Complete with lawn chairs, swings and hammocks for sitting. Anyone who likes cactus has many to choose from to see and buy. Plus 2 cute meerkats waiting to welcome guests in their cages.
This wall of the building also hides a gimmick depicting a ghoul taken from the movie House of the Ghouls, along with several bumps placed in famous scenes from this classic ghost movie. It's a detail that Sanit Rusat Cafe has done in a cute way, worthy of being a cafe in the style of an old, retro movie theater that I'd recommend checking in.
