Chao Phraya River is the main river in Thailand, create from the
merger of two major rivers in the northern part of Thailand,
Ping and Nan rivers. The area of Chao Phraya River is 20125
square kilometers with a length of 372 kilometers. Chao Phraya
River runs through 10 provinces in central Thailand. Starting
from Nakhon Sawan, Uthai Thani, Chainat, Singburi, Angthong,
Ayutthaya through Bangkok, Nonthaburi, Pathum Thani and out into
the Gulf of Thailand in Samut Prakan.
This river is used not only for transportation, freight
route, agriculture, electricity and drainage, but also used as a
source of recreation. There are many attractions along the river
and many people enjoying, walking, shopping, relaxing and
soaking up the atmosphere in this capital city. |
