The Namtok Sam Lan National Park, also known as Khao Sam Lan
National Park, covers 4 districts: Mueang, KaengKhoi, NongKhae,
and WihanDaeng. Sprawling over an expansive 44 square
kilometers, park comprises many small and large mountains, along
with a flat-bottomed valley. Waterfalls in the park such as
Namtok Sam Lan, a three-tiered cascade, located 300 meters from
the national park headquarters. Other waterfalls are smaller,
and are walking distance from the headquarters, often providing
restful swimming spots for visitors looking for relaxation. The
waterfalls are best enjoyed between July and October. A small
reservoir provides venues for kayaking, swimming and boating.
Moreover, the World War II Memorial of the Japanese Army,
located 2 kilometers from the park office, features remnants of
Japanese soldiers’ encampment: trenches, a command room, a
treasure room and bunker lines. Three nature study routes offer
visitors a closer look at the environment. The park is
located on the Bangkok-Saraburi Road, on Highway No. 1,
Phahonyothin Road, approximately 16 kilometers south of
Saraburi. Departing from Bangkok, turn right to make a U-turn
before reaching Km. 102, continuing onto Highway No. 3042 and
then 3046. Continue on the asphalt road for 8 kilometers.
Admission fee is 100 bath for adults and 50 bath for chrildrent. |
