Wat Khao Nang Buat  -

 Known as:   Wat Khao Khuen Wat Phra Achan Thammachot  
 Description:   Kow Nang Buach temple, or in the other name called Kow Kune temple locates at Nang Buach district, amphur Derm Bang Nang Buach, Supanburi province. It locates far to the north about 51 kilometers. For driving, you need to drive along highway number 340. At kilometer numbers 138-139, there will be a road up to the temple, which locates on top of Nang Buach Mountain. Or the other choice, you can walk up the stairs for 249 steps to the top of the hill.

In the old time, this temple was very important, especially in 2308 of Buddhist Era, when is Somded Prajaow Ekkatats age. On that time, the Myanmar was encamping around Krung Sri Ayuthaya city, Pra Ajarn Tummachod monk stayed in this Buddhist temple during the rainy season.  He was a knowledgeable person in amulets, and he played very important role in Bangrajun battle. This caused the Bangrajun villagers persuaded him to be the morale in fighting with Myanmar. Pra Ajarn Tummachod monk and the villagers strongly fought with Myanmar, they got the victory for seven times and defeated in the eighth war.

In the temple, there are many interesting items, start with the "pray hall of Pra Ajarn Tummachod monk". Inside the hall, there are many holy things such as

-The bone of the Buddha; which received from Thai government,

-Royal wooden image of Kang Chan monk (golden image); it was a very holy statue of Buddha and it was made of Kang Chan wood during Pra Ajarn Tummachod monk era,

-Wooden image of Buddha that was created like Myanmar style, and

-Bronze statue of Pra Ajarn Tummachod monk that the villagers considerably worship and respect.

There is a big "Stucco of the image of Buddha", that locates on top of the mountain. It is the Buddha posture. The stucco is very holy and is a symbol of the temple. Finally, "the Buddha image hall of Pra Ajarn Tummachod monk", inside the hall there is an imitation of the Buddha footprint that has a long age. Outside the hall, we can see the pagoda of rock plates; it is a construction of many thin rock plates in form of small pagoda, which locates near to the hall.

For people who are interested in visiting the temple, we open daily from 8:00 - 17.00.
