Wat Tham Yai, the temple of the big cave, is located on the
backside of the mountain Khao Prasong. it is one of three places
where the ashes of the venerable Phutthathat Phikkhu were
enshrined. The site has been used as a religious site since late
Ayutthaya-times. Hundreds of Buddha statues are located in the
caves, while the relics of Phutthathat Phikku are kept in a
structure in the temple. |
