 Description:   In total, the temple features four footprints, each superimposed on the other and artistically engraved. The engraved footprints represent the liberation path as mentioned in the life of Buddha. Buddha’s footprint is housed in a modest shrine within a beautiful temple, located 150 steps up a steep hill. From this wat, you will be able to enjoy a bird’s eye view of the hills, foliage and beautiful coastline.
As the location of Buddha’s Footprint is not signposted, tourists may find it difficult to locate. If you are planning to visit, follow the road towards the Hua Thanon Village from Lamai and the temple is found near the Samui Butterfly Garden. When you go past the garden on the 4170 road, you will reach your destination. Please note that photography is not allowed inside the temple.
Today, the wat is considered a popular tourist attraction in Koh Samui and tourists come to this wat to explore its century-old architectural monuments.
The Buddha Footprint is housed housed in a modest shrine 150 steps up a steep hill in a hill-side chapel.Buddha’s Footprint is not signposted but can be found by going up a concrete slope on the left, two kilometers West of the turnoff for the Butterfly Garden on the 4170 road.
